SOMO

SOMO merges the gestures of dance with the generation of sound and collaboration.

SoMo was a project developed by Sonic Wear where wireless wearable sensors generate sound through user movement. The application of the technology is primarily focussed on sound / dance performance as well as educational workshops catered to a variety of ages. From 2014 - 2015, Kyle Duffield was the sound designer and software developer using Max 7, Max For Live, and Ableton Live. The SOMO team also consisted of Loretta Favari (Founder), and Leif Bloomquist (Coding Development / Promotion). The project later moved towards a different system geared towards a consumer enduser.
